Ingredients
  • My family calls this Grandma Roast because every time we drove the 3 hours to see my great grandma she always had this cooking for us.

  • 3lbs chuck roast (I cube it)
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 4 to 6tbs unsalted butter (optional) I think it makes the meat extra tender and juicy
  • 1 small onion
  • Onion is cut into rings to go on the bottom of the pot. Chuck roast on top of that. Mushroom soup poured over and onion soup sprinkled over the top. 6 to 8 hours on low depending on how many pounds of meat you use.
  • We serve over mashed potatoes with a slice of crusty bread to sop up the gravy.
