Chocolate Pixies

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
Steps
  1. In 1 quart saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat; 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. Cool.
  3. In large mixing bowl, combine melted chocolate mixture, 1 cup flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Beat at medium speed until well mixed.
  5. By hand, stir in remaining 1 cup flour and nuts, if desired.
  6. Cover and refrigerate until firm; 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Heat oven to 300°.
  8. Shape teaspoonsful of dough into 1-inch balls and roll in powdered sugar.
  9. Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
  10. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until firm to the touch.
  11. Remove immediately and cool.
