Slow-Cooker Hungarian Goulash

  • 4 pounds onions, chopped

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 4 pounds boneless beef chuck-eye roast, pulled apart at seams, trimmed, and cut into 1½-inch pieces
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
