Caramel Apple Cake

I love to cook! I took cake decorating in 7th grade and have a degree in restaurant management. My husband and I opened and owned a bakery for 9 years. We live at 5000 ft so I can adjust most recipes for high altitude. Succumbed to the instant pot craze after loving my stovetop pressure cooker & am a convert. Love to ski, bike, garden & cook.

Cake

8 tablespoons (113g) unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup (198g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 ½ cups (180g) King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour

1 teaspoon King Arthur Apple Pie Spice*

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon table salt

⅛ teaspoon cloves

¾ cup (192g) applesauce, unsweetened

2 tablespoons (43g) boiled cider

Frosting

1 batch Whipped Caramel Frosting, prepared
