Ingredients
  • 4 C water total
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 T butter
  • ¼ C light brown sugar
  • ½ C grits
  • ⅓ C Craisins
  • 1 T Bacon fat optionl
  • 1 Cinammon stick
  • 1 t Vanilla Extract
Steps
  1. Bring 2 cups water to boil with a pinch of salt, brown sugar and butter.
  2. Add grits stirring constantly
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients except vanilla
  4. Lower heat to simmer and cook 1 hour adding remaining water as needed.
  5. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.
  6. When done add Vanilla Extract and serve.

  • Use medium saucepan
