Orange sauce for Asian recipes
Ingredients
  • 1 regular sized jar of orange marmalade
  • 2 cups of orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger ( not ness. But very good )
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flake ( more if you want spicy )
  • Two heaping teaspoons of cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water
Steps
  1. Mix marmalade, orange juice, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic and red pepper flake in a medium pot.
  2. Bring to a boil stirring frequently then turn down to a simmer for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  3. It will reduce a little.
  4. Mix cornstarch and water, add to mixture and stir well. Allow to simmer for five more minutes.
  5. Add to your chicken.
  6. If using my Asian chicken recipe ( located on this page), once chicken has browned, add entire pot to chicken in casserole dish and stir to coat. Cover with foil and cook half an hour, stirring halfway through cook time.
