  • Pepperoni to cover
  • Simple Cooked Tomato Sauce
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups finely chopped white or yellow onion
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Kosher salt
  • pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 1 (28oz) can undrained peeled whole San Marzano tomatoes
  • ½ cup packed fresh basil leaves
