  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup barley
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano, or ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, or ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme, or ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley, or 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni
