Apple bread (ma Kittel)

Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter (parkay)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda
  • 2 Tbs. sour milk (milk with a little vinegar)
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups apples (finely chopped)
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. 1. Cream together al ingredients except flour and apples.
  3. 2. Add flour and blend in well.
  4. 3. Fold in apples.
  5. Fill 2 loaf pans about ¾ full. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes
Notes
  • Topping: melt together 4 Tbs. parkay oleo, 4 Tbs. sugar and 2 tsp. Cinnamon. Heat till bubbly. Remove from heat stir in about 4 Tbs. flour or more to desired consistency. Spread on top of bread.
