Braised Pork Bellies - Marianne Luong Recipe (Home Cooks From Around the World)
Ingredients
  • Pork Bellies~ 5 lbs
  • Light Soy ~ 1 cup
  • Dark Soy ~ 2 tbsp
  • Oyster Sauce ~ ½ Cup
  • Sugar ~ 1 cup
  • Water ~ 6 cup
  • Shao Hsing Cooking Wine ~ ½ cup
  • Ground Black Pepper ~ 2 tbsp
  • Star Anise ~ 6 pieces
  • Ginger ~ 2 Thumb Size
  • White part of Scallion ~ 3 stalks
  • Instruction;
  • Seared all pork bellies until light browned, added ginger & white part of Scallion to pan fry until turned light brown, added Shao Hsing Cooking Wine to cook for a min, then added the rest of the ingredients to braise for 2 hours until the sauce turned thicker. Adjusted taste to your preference. I preferred mine not too sweet.
