Muffin bread

Ingredients
  • 2 packages dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp = 1 pkg) or 4 ½ tsp
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups milk
  • Cornmeal
Steps
  1. Grease pans and sprinkle with cornmeal.
  2. Heat milk and water until very warm (120 to 130).
  3. Add 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Beat well.
  4. Stir in the rest of the flour to make a stiff batter.
  5. Spoon into two bread pans.
  6. Let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle tops of bread with cornmeal before baking.
  8. Microwave each loaf on high power for 6 min 30 seconds. Allow to rest 5 minutes before removing from pans.
  9. If baking in oven, 350° for about 30 to 45 minutes
