This recipe is from my friend, Michelle Hall, who passed away from breast cancer in 11/2013. We were part of a group that loved to talk about food and shared recipes with each other in our online breast cancer support group.
Servings: 6
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 cup Onion , chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic , crushed
- 1⁄ 2 cup Fresh Parsley , chopped (or use garden gourmet in the tube)
- 2 cans Crushed Tomatoes , 28 ounces each
- 6 ounces Tomato Paste
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Dried Basil
- 1 1⁄ 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1⁄ 4 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 pound Spaghetti
Steps
- Saute ground beef and onions until beef is cooked through. Drain excess oil.
- Add garlic, parsley, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, salt oregano and pepper to the ground beef and onion mixture.
- Simmer over low heat for at least 30 minutes, preferrably longer, stirring occasionally.
- Cook spaghetti in well salted water according to package directions. Drain.
- Spoon meat sauce over pasta and serve immediately. If not serving right away, mix a bit of sauce into the pasta to prevent it from sticking.
