Ingredients
- subheading: Crust:
- 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 Tablespoons cold milk
- subheading: Filling:
- 5 large Gala or Jonagold apples, peeled and sliced
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
- subheading: Topping:
- ¾ cup all purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ⅓ cup cold butter
Steps
- Sift dry ingredients into a 9” pie pan. Whip oil and milk with fork; pour over dry ingredients. Mix and press dough to fill pie pan.
- Place apples in crust. Combine cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle over apples.
- Sift sugar and flour into bowl. Cut in butter. Sprinkle over apple mixture and press down.
- Refrigerate overnight. The next day, bake at 425 for 10 minute. Reduce heat to 350 and bake another 40 minutes.
