Seafood Chop Suey with Quail Egg (Filipino)

  • 1 dozen quail egg, hard boiled and peeled
  • ⅓ lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ⅓ lb. squid, cut into rings (discard ink)
  • ⅓ lb. mussels, all meat
  • ⅓ lb. fish balls, cut in halves

  • 1 can baby corn, drained
  • 1 large sayote, peeled and cut into bite size
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and cut into bite size
  • 1 large red bell pepper, remove seeds and julienne
  • 1 lb. snow peas, remove both end
  • 3 stem celery, chopped
  • 2 thumb size ginger, minced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch, diluted in ½ cup water
  • 2 to 3 cups chicken broth or water
  • 2 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp. hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 2 pieces chicken bouillon (optional)
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
