Are you kidding me Cake (Amazing Amish Snack Cake)

Ingredients
  • 1 large box cake mix, any flavor
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 can pie filling, any flavor
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine dry cake mix, beaten eggs and pie filling.
  4. Stir together until well mixed.
  5. Bake in greased 9-by-13-inch baking dish at 350 degrees F. for 35 minutes or test with toothpick.
Notes
  • This cake is so moist it really doesn’t need any frosting. But if you want, you can make either a simple glaze, or a pudding/whipped topping frosting (recipes follow).
  • Suggested cake and pie filling combinations:
  • • Pineapple cake mix with blueberry pie filling
  • • Chocolate cake mix with cherry pie filling
  • • Yellow cake mix with cherry pie filling
  • • Yellow cake mix with blueberry pie filling
  • • Butter Pecan cake mix with apple pie filling
  • • Yellow cake mix with apple pie filling
  • • Yellow cake mix with blackberry pie filling
  • • Strawberry cake mix with strawberry pie filling
  • • Yellow cake mix with peach pie filling
  • • Spice cake mix with apple pie filling
  • • White cake mix with strawberry pie filling
  • Simple Cake Glaze:
  • ⅓ cup stick margarine or butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons water
  • Melt margarine in a saucepan. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until smooth and of desired consistency (a thick syrup).
  • Drizzle over cooled cake.
  • Pudding and Whipped Topping Frosting:
  • 1 box of pudding, any flavor
  • Milk to make the pudding
  • 1 (8-ounce) tub of whipped topping, thawed
  • Make the pudding as directed on the box. Chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes.
  • Mix the entire tub of whipped topping into the pudding. Spread on the cooled cake. Refrigerate cake.
