Traditional German Senfbraten (Pork Roast with Mustard Gravy)
Ingredients
  • 2 lb pork roast (e.g. pork loin)
  • German mustard
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 large yellow onion , chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped thyme
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 carrots , cut in half

  • 3 tablespoons flour whisked into additional ½ cup cool beef broth
