Easy Ground Turkey Stir Fry
Ingredients
  • Garlic - Use fresh garlic for best flavor or frozen garlic cubes for an easy shortcut.
  • Ginger - Use fresh ginger for best flavor or frozen ginger cubes for an easy shortcut.
  • Soy sauce - You can use traditional soy sauce, low sodium soy sauce for a lower sodium option, and tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
  • Brown sugar - This gives the stir fry sauce sweet flavor. You could also use honey or maple syrup or a sugar alternative if you prefer.
  • Cornstarch - This gives the stir fry sauce a thick and glossy texture. You could also use potato starch.
  • Rice vinegar - This helps balance the flavors of the soy sauce and add a little acid to the dish. You could also use an apple cider vinegar or other type of vinegar if you prefer.
  • Sesame oil - This helps give the stir fry sauce deep flavor. I recommend using a toasted sesame oil for the best flavor.
  • Vegetable oil - This is to stir fry the turkey and broccoli, use a high smoke point oil like avocado or canola oil.
  • Ground turkey - Look for a lean ground turkey, but not 99% fat-free. I’ve found the fat-free versions lack flavor and dry out really easily without the fat content. You could also make this healthy stir-fry with ground chicken, ground beef, ground pork, or meatless ground crumbles if you prefer.
  • Broccoli - You can use broccoli florets that are already prepped or cut your own. You will want to make sure your broccoli florets are all about the same size so they cook evenly.
  • Sea salt
  • Rice - Serve the healthy ground turkey stir fry over white rice, brown rice, or cauliflower rice.
