Ingredients
  • chuck roast
  • carrots
  • onions
  • potatoes
Steps
  1. Buy a chuck roast (boneless, blade, or round bone).
  2. Brown in a small amount of oil in a pan in the oven or on the stove. (Be careful, it spits!)
  3. Add water to cover meat at least ½ way.
  4. Cook, covered, in 350° oven, or on stove, about 3 hours for a 3 lb. roast.
  5. After 2 hours, add carrots, onions, and potatoes (cleaned & whole).
  6. Cook at least 1 hour longer.
  7. Add water, if necessary.
  8. Thicken juice for gravy.
