Low sodium version of a restaurant favorite

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 (15 ounce) cans no salt pinto beans
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- "no salt" to taste
- Splash of lime juice
Steps
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic cloves to butter, until brown and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add diced onion, cooking through until soft and translucent, 4 to 5 minutes.
- Stir pinto beans, cumin, chili powder, and "no salt" into skillet and cook until beans are thoroughly heated, about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- It will seem really runny, but the liquid is going to cook off and be absorbed by the beans, don't worry
- Smash bean mixture with a potato masher to desired texture. Splash lime juice over smashed beans and stir until combined.
Notes
- If serving as a side, and not as an ingredient in a taco or burrito, serve warm, topped with a fiesta blend cheese on top
