Rum Raisin Sauce

I enjoy being creative when it comes to cooking. I am also very frugal so I try to stretch the dollar.

So good over ice cream

½ cup dark rum

½ cup apple juice

½ cup light brown sugar

½ cup walnuts

½ cup raisins

2 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 teaspoon cinnamon and

½ teaspoon nutmeg

My baked apples were way overcooked, but I loved the sauce.

Warm everything in a small pan and serve

It freezes beautifully. I found it in the freezer and I was going to throw it out but I microwaved some in a bowl and then added vanilla ice cream. I'm so glad I didn't toss it.
