Authentic Paella Recipe
Spanish food? Yes please! This super delicious and popular dish is a classic in Spain and tastes heavenly. This easy Paella recipe has a blend of rice, vegetables, seafood, meat, and spices that is packed full of bold flavor.
Prep Time: 35 minutes Total time 1:05 hours
Ingredients
  • 6 tbsp olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tbsp hot Hungarian paprika
  • 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 ½ tbsp garlic (minced)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups long grain rice - Long grain rice is the best rice but if you have jasmine rice, that's excellent too
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • pinch saffron
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 bunch Italian parsley (chopped and divided in half)
  • 1 quart chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 lb chorizo sausage (remove casing and break up into crumbles)
  • 1 ¼ lb raw shrimp (peeled & deveined)
