Apple Crumble

I'm a foodie, a chowhound, a gastronaut, and I love to cook!

Amazing! We used a tin of blueberries and 1.6kg of golden delicious apples and upped the initial flour to 3Tbs to compensate the liquid from the blueberries (and topped some out).
Baked for 40mins and the apples still had a bit of crunch to them so could have gone longer.
Super yum, although it did take 1hr+ to put together.

subheading: APPLE FILLING:

2 lb / 1kg Granny Smith Apples( green apples) , weight before peeling

1 tbsp flour , plain / all-purpose

½ cup white sugar (sub brown sugar)

2 tbsp lemon juice (or water)

½ tsp ground cinnamon

subheading: TOPPING:

1 cup rolled oats / oatmeal (quick cooking is ok)

1 cup flour , plain / all-purpose

1 cup (loosely packed) brown sugar (sub white sugar)

½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon powder

125g / ½ cup unsalted butter , melted

Pinch of salt

subheading: TO SERVE:

Vanilla ice cream
