Best sugar cookie recipe, ever!

Servings: 5 to 6 Dozen

Servings: 5-6 Dozen
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • Red Colored Decorating Sugar
  • Green Colored Decorating Sugar
Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, oil, both sugars and eggs.
  2. Add cream of tartar, salt, baking soda and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in flour.
  4. Pour colored sugar into 2 separate small bowls. Scoop out a bits of dough about the size of a walnut and roll into balls. Should be roughly 1 inch. Dip one side of balls into sugar of your choice and place on a baking sheet roughly 2 inches apart, sugared side up. Note: If dough is too sticky, refrigerate for a bit to firm it up some.
  5. Once cookies are on the baking sheet, flatten them to roughly ΒΌ inch using the bottom of a drinking glass of other flat-bottomed device. Note: If glass starts to stick to dough dip it lightly in flour before flattening cookie.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until ever so slightly brown. Allow to cool slightly and remove to cooling rack to cool completely.
