Best sugar cookie recipe, ever!
Servings: 5 to 6 Dozen
Servings: 5-6 Dozen
Ingredients
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 large Egg
- 1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- Red Colored Decorating Sugar
- Green Colored Decorating Sugar
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, oil, both sugars and eggs.
- Add cream of tartar, salt, baking soda and vanilla. Mix until combined.
- Gradually mix in flour.
- Pour colored sugar into 2 separate small bowls. Scoop out a bits of dough about the size of a walnut and roll into balls. Should be roughly 1 inch. Dip one side of balls into sugar of your choice and place on a baking sheet roughly 2 inches apart, sugared side up. Note: If dough is too sticky, refrigerate for a bit to firm it up some.
- Once cookies are on the baking sheet, flatten them to roughly ΒΌ inch using the bottom of a drinking glass of other flat-bottomed device. Note: If glass starts to stick to dough dip it lightly in flour before flattening cookie.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until ever so slightly brown. Allow to cool slightly and remove to cooling rack to cool completely.
