  • 1 Pound of lean ground beef (93% lean recommended)
  • ½ Cup diced onions- I used frozen
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh basil- chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic- minced
  • 1 Teaspoon sugar
  • ½ Teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 32 Ounces beef broth
  • 24 Ounces pasta sauce- I used store bought in a jar
  • ½ Pound spaghetti or fettuccine noodles
  • 6 Ounces tomato paste or thick sauce
  • 1 Cup of parmesan or mozzarella cheese if desired
