Lago's Tomato Sauce
I cut out a recipe in 1998 for Cafe Lago lasagna, and this was different than the lasagna recipe I found on-line, published in 2004.
Ingredients
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 28-ounced can of quality whole tomatoes
Steps
  1. Sauté onions until soft, but not browned, in olive oil about 10 minutes. Pass tomatoes through a food mill (this is critical). Add tomato puree to sautéed onions in a wide saucepan and cook at high heat for 10 minutes.
