  • 1 tablespoon butter, preferably unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic, or ½ teaspoon dried minced garlic or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, more or less to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, more or less to taste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, regular or low sodium
  • 1 teaspoon light or dark brown sugar (substitute granulated sugar or honey)
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Everything bagel seasoning
  • Chopped green onions, for serving (optional)
