Roxy's Hersey Kiss Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 bag Hersey's kisses
  • ½ cup butter
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 1 egg yoke, save whites for dipping
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1cup all purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup cocoa
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts for rolling

  • subheading: vanilla frosting:
  • combine ½ cup confectioners sugar, 1 tbsp softened butter, 2 tsp milk, and ¼ tsp vanilla.
Steps
  1. Cream butter, sugar, egg yoke, milk & vanilla in small bowl. combine flour, cocoa,& salt: blend into creamed mixture. chill dough 1hour, until firm. prepare vanilla filling. roll dough into 1 inch balls.dip into beaten egg whites(not frothy). roll balls in mixture of 1 c. walnuts & 2 tbsp. sugar. press thumbprint gently into center of each
  2. cookie. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Remove from oven, spoon about ¼ tsp. Vanilla filling in thumbprint. Gently press a Hersey's kiss in center of each cookie.
Notes
  • 4 batches make approx. 100 cookies
  • 2 ½ c. walnuts & abt. 1 ½ c. Confectioners sugar.
