Buettner explained the meal: “Every day of their lives they ate the same meal for lunch. “A sourdough loaf, a three-bean minestrone soup – a thick minestrone with garden vegetables. “There were always three beans in it: a garbanzo, a pinto and a white bean. Accompanied by a smalll glass of red wine!
Ingredients
  • We love bean and lentil soups loaded with veggies. My favorite is a refrigerator veggie dump soup with beans on hand. A glass of wine with dinner. Good news for me!
  • If anyone needs to lose weight, egg white veggie/cheese/black bean omelette or oatmeal/cottage cheese/Greek yogurt with berries (breakfast), bean/lentil veggie soups (lunch/dinner), salad with any toppings you like and add beans. Wine too! My friend did this and lost almost 20lbs in about a month. It became known as my “bean soup diet”
