  • pinch of turmeric, optional, for color
  • 1 ¾ cups (210g) King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • ½ cup (99g) vegetable oil
  • ½ to ¾ cup (85g to 128g) chocolate chips*
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) coarse sparkling sugar or turbinado sugar
  • note: Use the higher amount of chips for a more prominent chocolate flavor.
