Bread Pudding
Raisin Bread Pudding w/ Bourbon Sauce
Ingredients
  • subheading: Bread Pudding:
  • 12 Raisin bread slices torn into pieces
  • 1 (14oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
  • ¾ Cup hot water
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ Teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ Teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • subheading: Bourbon Sauce:
  • 1 (14oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ Cup of butter or margarine
  • 3 Tablespoons of Bourbon (151 is my choice)
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla extract
Steps
  1. subheading: For Bread Pudding:
  2. Preheat oven to 350.
  3. Place raisin bread slices pieces in a lightly greased 8 inch square baking dish.
  4. Stir together sweetened condensed milk, and remaining ingredients.
  5. Pour mixture over top of bread pieces. Mash bread down slightly to soak up all of mixture.
  6. Place dish in large shallow pan; add hot water around outside of pan to a depth of 1 inch.
  7. Bake @ 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.
  8. subheading: For Bourbon Sauce:
  9. Cook sweetened milk and butter in sauce pan over low heat until butter melts.
  10. Remove from heat and add Bourbon and vanilla.
  11. Serve warm.
