My Mom’s Date Rice Krispie Balls

Servings: 5 to 6 Dozen

Servings: 5-6 Dozen
Ingredients
  • ½ lb Dates, chopped (Do not substitute already chopped dates)
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ cup Margarine
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
  • Confectionary Sugar
Steps
  1. Add the chopped dates, egg, margarine and sugar to a large,  on-stick pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil and stir for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and the chopped nuts.
  3. Add Rice Krispies and mix until evenly coated.
  4. When mixture has cooled just enough to handle, put a little butter on your hands (so mixture doesn’t stick). Roll into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in confectionary sugar to coat.
