Servings: 8 slices
Servings: 8 slices
Ingredients
- Two sheets of rice paper
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 2 tbs soy sauce
- 2 tbs nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
Steps
- Mix everything except the rice paper and hot water in a bowl. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Place the hot water into a skillet large enough to hold the whole sheet of rice paper flat.
- Dip sheet of rice paper into hot (not boiling) water for about 5 seconds, just long enough so you can cut it with scissors without it cracking.
- Using scissors, cut rice paper sheet into strips about 2" wide.
- If needed, put the strips one at a time into the hot (not boiling) water until they are just soft enough to bend without cracking, maybe 10 more seconds.
- Pull each strip out and wipe off the water with your fingers.
- Dip the wet rice paper strips one at a time in the marinade.
- Place strips on silicone lined baking sheet. Lay them flat, but it's ok if the edges fold over a little bit.
- Bake 10 minutes at 350F.
- Use a spatula to peel the strips off of the pan, turn and pinch them a little on the edges to make them "wrinkly".
- Bake five minutes more.
- Place strips on a rack to cool.
