My mother-in-law's recipe. I prepare the mix in advance to save time when I need to make bread and this way I only have to clean up the flour from all over the kitchen once every six or seven loaves.
Servings: Each mix makes one 1 ½ lb. loaf.

Ingredients
- 6 or 7 Airtight containers with a minimum capacity of 26 ½ oz.
- subheading: Each container has:
- 3 c bread flour
- 1 ½ Tbsp powdered milk
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- subheading: Additional ingredients you will need when you make your bread :
- 1⅛ cups room temperature water.
- 1½ Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp instant or bread machine yeast
Steps
- Place flour, powdered milk, sugar and salt in airtight containers,
- Store the containers in a cool dry place.
- subheading: To make bread:
- Make sure paddle is In bread pan.
- Pour water into pan.
- Add butter.
- Add container of bread mix.
- Make a small well in dry ingredients and carefully add yeast into well.
- Place pan inside machine and start or set if using delay.
Notes
- Increase yeast by ½ tsp if using the rapid setting.
- You can get 6 mixes out of each 5 lb bag of bread flour.
- Follow the instructions for your bread maker.
- Store the bins in a cool dry place.
- I keep the 1⅛ cup plastic measuring cup and the tsp/Tbsp measure that came with the machine
- right Inside my bread maker along with an index card with the instructions.
