- 1 Gallon Water
- 1 cup White Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Alum
- 2 tsp red food color
- water to cover pickles for simmering
- SYRUP
- 3 Cup White Vinegar
- 3 Cup Water
- 18 ozs. Red Hot Cinnamon Candy or Cinnamon Imperials
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 8 cups Granulated Sugar
- 3 large cinnamon sticks
- 1 to 2 tsp red food color (optional - as needed for depth of color)
