  • 2 ½ to 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 to 2 tbsp seasoned salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • subheading: FOR THE YEAST WAFFLES:
  • 1 ¾ cups whole milk, at room temperature
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted, plus more melted butter for the waffle iron
  • 2 ½ cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast (from 2 envelopes)
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • subheading: FOR THE BOURBON MAPLE SYRUP:
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tbsp light brown sugar
