Jamaican Cornmeal Porridge with Coconut and Condensed Milks

  • One 13.5-ounce (400ml) can coconut milk
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup (3 ½ ounces; 100g) light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) pure vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup (175ml) condensed milk, or to taste, plus more for drizzling (optional)
  • Freshly grated nutmeg, to taste
