Atk brown butter blondie
Ingredients
  • 2 ¼ c. AP flour
  • 1 ¼ tsp table salt
  • ½ tsp. Baking powder
  •
  • 12 T. unsalted butter
  •
  • 1 ¾ c. Light brown sugar (not dark)
  • ½ C. Corn syrup (light)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 T. Vanilla
  •
  • 1 c toasted, then chopped pecans
  • ½ C. milk chocolate chips (use milk not dark so they are more butter sketchy).
  •
  • Optional: flaked sea salt ¼ to ½ tsp
Steps
  1. Prepare 9 x 13 pan with foil sling and spray with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Whisk dry ingredients together
  3. Melt butter in a skillet (not non stick) on medium high heat. 3 more minutes swirling pan until deep golden brown. If you use a dark colored pan it’s hard to tell if you’ve overdone the browning
  4. Take off heat and pour into large bowl. Add brown sugar and stir then whisk in remaining wet ingredients.
  5. Stir in dry powder ingredients with rubber spatula
  6. Add pecans & chips to batter. Spread in 9x13 prepared pan
  7. Sprinkle with flaked sea salt if desired
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes- deep golden brown and springs back when lightly pressed. Cool 2 hours in pan
  9. Pull out of pan with sling and unstick bottom with spatula. Cut into 24 pieces - ( 6 x 4 )
