Homemade Kahlua

My brother and I are avid stove monkeys with extensive experience in the restaurant business. We gravitate toward big bold flavors and fusion.
Ingredients
  • 6 cups water
  • 6 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup instant coffee
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 Tablespoons vanilla
  • 1 quart vodka
Steps
  1. Dissolve sugar in 6 cups water in a saucepan on the stove. Bring to a boil and boil for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Combine coffee in 2 cups water, add to boiled sugar mixture. Cool.
  3. Add vanilla and vodka.
  4. Pour into a gallon sized container. (even a milk jug works)
  5. Age for one week.
