  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • ⅓ cup cilantro leaves, chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • ¼ cup salsa verde
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup crumbled cotija cheese, optional
