Tomato Cheese Bread
Appetizer Tomato Cheese Bread
Ingredients
  • SOUR CREAM TOPPING
  •  
  • 1 med onion minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese...or mixture of your choice (I use the grated blend of casserole cheese you can buy from Jensen’s )
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp leaf oregano
  •  
  • BISCUIT MIX
  •  
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 2 cups biscuit mix (Bisquick)
  •  
  • 3 medium tomatoes....peeled, seeded, sliced ¼ “ thick
  • Paprika
Steps
  1. Prepare topping by sautéing onion in butter until tender.
  2. Blend with remaining topping.ingredients. Set aside
  3. Stir milk into Biscuit mix to make a soft dough. Turn on to well floured board. Knead lightly 10 to 12 strokes. Pat dough over bottom of 13 x 9 x 2” baking pan or dish. Push dough up sides to form a shallow rim.
  4. Arrange tomatoes over dough. Spoon on topping , sprinkle with paprika
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes
  6. Let stand at least 10 minutes before cutting.
  7. Enjoy!!
