Easy Seven Minute Frosting

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ⅛ tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 TBS. White Corn Syrup
  • ½ of a ⅓ cup water
  • 2 egg white (unbeaten)
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
Steps
  1. Mix egg white, sugar, salt, cream of tartar, white syrup and water in the top of a double boiler.  Beat over boiling water with beaters  for 7 minutes.  Remove from water, add vanilla, beat 1 more minutes.  Frost a two layer cake.
Notes
  • From the Wiota Lutheran Church Cook Book.  I used a strawberry cake mix and baked in two round 8 or 9 inch pans and followed directions on box.  Let cool.  Put cream cheese filling between layers and frost with seven minute frosting.
