Easy Collard Greens with Ham Hocks (Stovetop)
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped white onions
  • 3 garlic cloves Minced
  • 3 pounds fresh collard greens This is usually 3 to 4 bundles. Weigh for accuracy. Weight includes the stems.
  • ¾ to 1 pound smoked ham hock
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups chicken broth You can also use water.
  • 1 tablespoon Creole Seasoning Adjust to taste.
  • sugar or sweetener Optional and adjust to taste. See notes.
