Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 lb ham steak or left over ham roast cut into ¼ to ½″ pieces
  • 1 cup chopped sweet onion
  • 3 cups cleaned and cut raw green  beans
  • 4 to 6 cups filtered water
  • 2  lbs new potatoes (yellow or red variety), washed and cut into ½″ cubes
  • ½ to 1 small head of regular cabbage or Napa style cabbage, washed, cut into ½″ strips
  • optional - 1 ½ lbs fresh green (snap) beans, washed, snapped & cut into 2″ pieces
  • optional - 2 tablespoons fresh chopped mint
  • Salt and pepper to taste
