Homemade Pizza
Pizza using the recipe from Mel's Kitchen Cafe

Ingredients
  • subheading: Pizza Sauce:
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (I like the ones with jalapenos in them)
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 T. Sugar
  • 1 t. dried oregano
  • 1 t. garlic salt
  • 1 t. dried basil
  • 1 packet red pepper flakes
  •  
  • subheading: Dough:
  • 3 C. flour (ish)
  • 1 T. honey
  • 1 T. oil
  • 1 C. warm water
  • 1 T. yeast
  • ½ t garlic salt
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 475° (heat pizza stone for ~ 30 minutes in the oven)
  2. To water, add the yeast, then the garlic salt then the oil, then the honey.
  3. Slowly mix in the flour, 1 cup at a time, kneading until it gets the right consistency
  4. Roll out the dough and toss it into your desired shape.
  5. On a pizza peel, generously add corn meal before setting the dough on the peel and decorating with your preferred toppings.
  6. Bake on stone for about 8 or 9 minutes, until it is nice and brown.
