  • 16 sprigs thyme
  • 4 tablespoons each freshly chopped parsley and basil plus more to garnish
  • 3 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried marjarom
  • 500 ml red wine
  • 56 oz (820g) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 14 oz (200g) Roma tomatoes, halved
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
