Simple fried apple recipe that can be used as a side dish or dessert topping

Ingredients
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Steps
  1. Peel, core, and slice apples. Add the butter to a pan over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the apples and cook until just softened. Serve immediately.
Notes
  • Other varieties of apples can work, but the tartness of the Granny Smith helps cut the sweetness of the brown sugar.
