Ingredients
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach
- 2 tbs. chopped onion
- 4 tbs. melted butter
- 2 tbs. all purpose flour
- ½ cup evaporated milk
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ¾ tsp. garlic salt
- ¾ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
- 1 6 oz. roll jalopeano cheese
- butterbread crumbs
Steps
- Cook spinach according to pkg. directions; drain and reserve ½ cup liquid. Saute onion in butter until tender. Add flour stirring until blended and smooth. Slowly add reserved spinach liquid and milk, stirring liquid constantly; cook until smooth and thickned. Add pepper, garlic salt, salt, worcestershire sauce, and cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Combine sauce and spinach. Pour into a 2 qt. casserole; top w/ buttered bread crumbs. bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes
