Mom's Baking Powder Biscuits

This is indeed one of Mom's best recipes always came out well

2 1/2 cups flour
4 tablespoons baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk

1. Sift dry ingredients,

2. add milk

3. combine and mix until firm

4. place dough on waxed paper and knead about 11 times folding over from edge to center

5. roll out to about 1/2 inch and cut let raise about 20 minutes

6. bake

Oven Temperature: 425°F

Tips
SCONES
you can make scones or shortcake by adding 1/2 cup sugar to the recipe and using a large biscuit cutter, Mom always used to make those and slice them in half for strawberry shortcake for Dad, He always preferred those to the typical sponge cake


COBBLER
make 1/2 portion of Biscuit dough adding 1/2 cup sugar and enough milk to make a cobbler dough have fruit bubbling hot before dropping dough on top and bake 425 for twenty minutes
