The Maltese

Search any European country to bring up traditional recipes from that country, as well as a traditional alcoholic beverage or cocktail from that country. [The Balkan countries have been combined: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia]

Sambuca, an anise flavored liqueur is very popular in Malta, and thus this cocktail was born.

Servings: 1

1½ oz. Sambuca Molinari

1½ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

6 oz. Soda Water

1 Sprig Fresh Mint

Chill a highball glass in the freezer for 10 minutes. Fill glass with ice. Add Sambuca to glass. Add Lemon Juice to glass. Top with soda water. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a sprig of mint.
