Easy Stovetop Mac and Cheese (One Pot!)
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk
  • 1 pound dry elbow macaroni
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 and ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 ounces American or Velveeta cheese
  • 3 to 4 cups sharp cheddar cheese (about 18 ounces), shredded
  • additional ½ cup milk, as needed
